A Littlethorpe of Leicestershire Local Rhyme

I don’t want to offend anybody from Narborough, Cosby, or Whetstone, but here’s a Littlethorpe ryhme from 70 years ago.

”Sutton for mutton, Broughton for beef,

Littlethorpe for pretty girls,

Cosby for thieves,

Whetstone’s a dirty place ,

Narborough’s no better,

But if you want a pretty girl,

Go to Littlethorpe to get her”
