Edward Dudley Hudson was born in Narborough, Leicestershire in 1798. He married Mary Garratt of Broughton Astley on May 1st 1832 in the brides village church.
He was a surgeon and from at least 1841 he and Mary were residing at Littlethorpe House employing one servant. They were still there at the time of the 1851 census.Sadly Edward passed away shortly afterwards in October of that year and was buried at Broughton Astley. Probate was granted to Mary on 26th November 1851.

The Leicester Chronicle of 31st January 1852 carried an auction notice for the sale of the property to take place at The White Lion Inn, Market Place, Leicester on 11th February 1852.
